George Ryder Inducted into the Softball Ontario Hall of Fame

Burlington, ON — November 1, 2024 — Softball Ontario is proud to announce the induction of
George Ryder to the Softball Ontario Hall of Fame in the Coach’s category. George will be the
first coach inducted into the Hall of Fame. A deserving honour for a coach who has dedicated
over 20 years to coaching softball at the provincial, national, and international level. George’s
contributions to the game also span outside of coaching, as he was a tremendous pitcher, and
dedicated administrator for many years, helping to shape the future of the game for the next
generation.

George’s coaching resume includes the following accolades: Head Coach Team Ontario (2017 –
Gold Medal Finish), Assistant Coach Team Ontario (2009, 2013 – Gold Medal Finish), Junior
Men’s National Team Assistant Coach (2012-2014), and Head Coach Jarvis Juniors (2002-2003
Provincial A and Canadian Champions). During his years of coaching, George has worked with
a number of athletes who have gone on to play for the Sr. Men’s National team, and continues
to support coaches through workshops and mentorship opportunities.

In addition to George’s coaching successes, George has been an influential executive in the
softball community, serving as OASA President and sitting on the Softball Ontario board, where
he had a huge part in developing the Softball Performance Centers across the province. George
continues to dedicate his time to the sport, convening tournaments, and working with young
pitchers in his local community.

Softball Ontario looks forward to honouring George at our Hall of Fame Luncheon on November
23, 2024 in Oakville, ON.
