Softball Ontario Launches New Strategic Plan to Strengthen and Grow the Sport Across the Province
Burlington, ON — May 15th, 2025 — Softball Ontario is proud to announce the launch of its new strategic plan, a bold and forward-thinking framework designed to guide the organization through the next phase of growth, inclusivity, and excellence in sport. The five year plan sets a clear vision for the future of softball in Ontario, prioritizing organizational effectiveness, growth within the sport, and participant success at all levels.
“This strategic plan represents a renewed commitment to our athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, and communities,” said Johnathan Baker, Executive Director of Softball Ontario. “It reflects who we are, where we’re going, and how we intend to build a stronger, more inclusive softball experience for Ontarians.”
The strategic plan is built on three key pillars:
- Organizational Effectiveness – Aiming to enhance Softball Ontario’s capacity to deliver meaningful support to our four provincial member associations and to ensure that players, coaches, umpires, and volunteers receive the assistance they need to thrive
- Growing the Game – Fostering participation and broadening outreach, we will ensure that softball continues to be a sport that unites diverse communities across Ontario, attracting people of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels.
- Driving Performance – Strengthening pathways for athletes, coaches, and officials, creating opportunities for development and celebrating excellence at all levels of play.
“We’re not just planning for tomorrow—we’re building a stronger, more resilient sport for future generations,” said Tom Buchan, Chair of the Board. “This strategy is about aligning our passion for softball with a clear path forward.”
